The Best Fall Cocktail – Ginger Fall Fizz

Raise your hand if you love a great cocktail!!! Fall is my favorite time of year and pairing it with a great cocktail makes it even better! I’ll be honest, I’m not a big cocktail drinker. I’m more of a wine girl and love a great winery.

But since we’re talking about cocktails, I have to say a cocktail with ginger is the best. I love the spiciness of ginger! Furthermore, I’m a true fan of ginger…ginger candy, ginger tea, ginger bops from Whole Foods…I love ginger!

So when I came across this cocktail, I had to try it! I initially felt this could be a summer drink, but the ginger and honey gives it such a warm feel and transitions well into my favorite time of year! Another thing I love about this drink is how easy it is to make.

Let’s get to this signature fall cocktail, shall we!

Ginger Fall Fizz Ingredients & Detailed Instructions

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz London Dry Gin
  • .75 oz Honey Ginger Syrup
  • .75 oz Lime

Instructions: The initial instructions for the cocktail states to combine all ingredients, shake and strain on fresh ice, top with soda water.

More detailed instructions are as follows:

  • First, we made the honey ginger syrup by taking a 3 inch fresh ginger chopped thinly, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 cup raw sugar, and 1/2 cup water; combing all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand for about 15 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine hand colander into a jar or bowl and discard the ginger. The syrup can last a week.
  • Second, pour 3/4 cup (the same as .75 oz) of the homemade syrup, 1.5 oz of the London Dry Gin (we used TANQUERAY LONDON DRY GIN), and 3/4 cup of lime (we squeezed the lime ourselves but it doesn’t hurt to buy lime juice already squeezed) into your favorite shaker (here are some cute ones here and here).
  • Third, shake and strain on fresh ice using a Collins glass (here are some cute ones here and here).
  • Lastly, top with club soda and garnish with Peychaud Bitters
